What you'll need to make one of the Spiral Weave Baskets:

  #5 Round Reed (5 oz.) Spokes for base and sides

  #2 Round Reed (1 oz.) Weavers for the base

  #3 Round Reed (6 oz.) Weavers for 3-rod arrow - 2 oz. Natural + 2 oz. of a dyed #3 + 2 oz. of another dyed #3

  #4 Round Reed (1/2 oz.) for the four-rod coil

In most cases it is more economical to purchase a one pound coil of each size of Natural Round Reed listed above than to purchase only the quantity of feet of each size.  #3 Round Reed in dyed colors is available in 1/4 lb. coils.

Flo Hoppe has taught basketry for more than 40 years in the United States and around the world.  She is the author of many articles on basketry and three books.  In 2013, Flo received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Basketry Organization.
