DVD - A Measure of the Earth

This DVD, by Billy Ray Sims, was produced in conjunction with the exhibition A Measure of the Earth: The Cole-Ware Collection of American Baskets at the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum. The exhibit was open Oct. 4 - Dec. 8, 2013.

"A Measure of the Earth" celebrates the generous gift of seventy-nine baskets to the Smithsonian American Art Museum by noted collectors Steven R. Cole and Martha G. Ware, and the promised gift of twenty more.

Basket makers Stephen Zeh, Lynette Youson, Anne McCauley, Jo Campbell-Amsler, Aaron Yakim, Cynthia Taylor, and Jennifer Heller are featured in this 10 minute film. Music by Dale T. Brann provides a wonderful backdrop to this incredible documentary.
