From author Dianne Stanton: "The inspiration for this basket was an antique, spoked construction, Indian basket that Judy Drury brought to the 1990 Summer Retreat of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild. This unusual basket was made of black ash and had a cover and handle. Both the cover and the sides were woven in a twill pattern that produced two diamonds. This version is a double-bottom, shallow bowl. The "diamond duet " pattern is woven on the side and it is completed with a folded and lashed Shaker-style rim. The pattern will work on any basket if the number of total spoke ends can be divided by 8 and the result is an even number - 64 total ends divided by 8 = 8, an even number." Basket measures 10" in diameter by 5" deep.
