Join us for a day of weaving the Farewell Virginia Basket at the Kentucky Museum. This workshop is for weavers of all levels. You’ll create a gorgeous basket with a wooden base, rattan material (natural and dyed) and two handcrafted white oak swing handles made in Allen County, Kentucky. See photo above for two examples of dyed reed options. Standing 13” tall; this basket is strong and it's perfect for carrying loads of materials and treasures, taking to the grocery or storing things at home. Register today as the class size is limited.

Students should bring the following if they have the supplies on hand. I will bring some extra tools as well.
Medium grit sandpaper
Pliers (regular wire pliers or needlenose)
Cable ties (1 dozen)
Carving Knife or Pocket Knife
Scissors or shears
Flexible measuring tape
An old towel
Basketry Packing Tool OR Bone Folder
Clothespins (1 dozen)
Spray bottle for water
